"From afar, from evening and morning
And yon twelve-winded sky,
The stuff of life to knit me
Blew hither: here am I."
-- A. E. Housman
Today was the press conference. A dozen or so trucks, vans and cars were lined up in the parking lot. Men and women roamed around with cameras, mikes, and pads in hand. ABC. NBC. CBS. Chicago Tribune. Chicago Sun-Times. WBEZ. WBBM. And others I can't remember.
Surreal.
The process of being interviewed several times within an hour has me reflecting upon my career, my process, my chosen mediums.
"Why did you knit the sweater?"
"Do you call yourself an artist?"
"Would you do this again?"
"Has working on this project increased your own awareness about global warming?"
"What have you changed as a result?"
Honestly, I'm so tired. I feel rather numb and need more time to process the piece.
I just want to sit in my garden and crochet myself a blanket.
