Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. -- Pablo Picasso
I have to share this set of charming directions on how to draw an owl. Written and illustrated by my 9 year old neighbor, you will hoot with delight as you draw your own.
Draw a circle. Draw to triangles toward the top of the circle.
Now draw two smaller circles inside the large one. Add a dot to the center of each of these circles. Add a diamond shape below them.
At the base of the large circle, add a couple of connected "u" shapes. For wings and feather texture, add two curved lines to the sides of the circle and the a couple of "w" shapes in between them.
And there you have it - how to draw an owl! Thank you Gabriella for your book! To make your own book from a sheet of paper, check out my instructions over at Illustration Friday.
