Free Pattern :: Loom Knit Baby's Cap
April 14, 2013
My first article printed in a trade magazine! Hooray! I wrote it for the current issue of Craft Industry Today, a magazine for members of the Craft & Hobby Association. The issue's theme is on giving back to the community. My community work through The Red Thread Project® resulted in over 7,000 hats being made and donated to charities. It seemed like fate to write the article. The project is easy to do and will take you only a few hours total to complete. When you finish, consider donating your handiwork to your local children's hospital or to a homeless shelter for families.
I used the Martha Stewart's Knit & Weave Loom Kit with Lion Brand's Amazing yarn to make the hat featured.

Update August 17, 2013: Thank you for all your interest! I have just moved and the orginal copy of this article is buried in a box somewhere in my office. I will unearth it and try to get a bigger file (enlarged) posted ASAP.
Update September 21, 2013: I am delighted by everyone's continued interest! Thank you! I am still unpacking. Who knew it would take so long?! Ugh! Anyway, I have found my originial pattern, though not the original copy of the published article. So, I have attached a PDF file of the pattern here for you to download. It won't have all the photos, but the text been increased to a size 14 font for easier reading. If you have a chance to take a photo of your knit version of this pattern, I'd love to see it and feature it on my blog or Facebook page. If you are knitting this hat for charity - hooray! - send me a link to your group and I will promote it on my social media feed. You might be able to generate a few more hats with extra hands helping.

Love the idea but the instructions are so small. I am a beginner with the loom and I do want to make more hats for the kids of cancer club that I am in. Can you send me the instructions a bit larger.
Thanks Pat

Please send me the pattern in larger print. I'm having problems trying to print all the steps in the current format. I can't get Step 7 and Step 8 to print with the photo in Step 7.
Thanks- Jill
